Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) apply to any use of websites, applications, and other online products and services (collectively, the “Services”) provided by Ruby’s Lab Corporation dba Self Told (“Self Told”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Services, you
are agreeing to the Terms.
These Terms apply to anyone who uses the Services, including website visitors, people who create an account, people who join someone else’s account, and people who use the Services without an account.
No one under the age of 18 is permitted to use the Services except with the permission and under the supervision of a parent or guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.
We may update these Terms when necessary to reflect changes in our Services or the applicable law. If we make changes, we will revise the date at the top of the policy. If we make material changes, we will provide you with additional notice (such as adding a statement to our
website homepage or sending you a notification). We encourage you to review the Terms whenever you access the Services. By continuing to use the Services, you are agreeing to be bound by any updated Terms.
Acceptable Use
You may use the Services only in compliance with these Terms and your use must adhere to the following restrictions:
- You may only use the Services for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not transfer your access to others or allow others to access the Services through your log in;
- You may only use the Services in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations;
- You may not use the Services to record or share any content that violates the rights of any third party or that Self Told deems to be obscene, harassing, inappropriate, defamatory, explicit, excessive, or objectionable;
- You may not copy or redistribute any content accessed through the Services except your own;
- You may not use the Services to transmit viruses or other malicious content; and
- You may not attempt to bypass any of the Services’ security mechanisms or controls to protect your data or the data of others.
Self Told may suspend or stop your use of the Services at any time if we suspect that you failed to adhere to these Terms or the terms of our Privacy Policy.
Fees
- Subscriptions and Other Fees: You may purchase a paid subscription to access additional components of the Services by paying a subscription fee plus applicable taxes in advance on a monthly basis or some other interval disclosed to you prior to your purchase. Some components of the Services are not subscription based but rather are billed on an as used basis. These non-subscription fees will be disclosed to you and must be paid before you will be allowed to use the applicable components of the Services. Subscription and non-subscription fees are set forth in the Pricing table on our website.
- Taxes: Tax rates are calculated based on the information you provide and the Self Told fees at the time of the payment. These amounts can change over time due to changes in tax rates in your city, county, and state.
- Price Changes: Self Told may change its prices at any time. Price changes will take effect at the start of the next subscription period following the date of the price change and, by continuing to use the Services after the price change takes effect, you will have accepted the new price. If you do not agree to a price change, you can cancel the subscription prior to the price change taking effect.
- Renewal and Cancellation: Your paid subscription will automatically renew at the end of the subscription period unless you cancel your subscription before the end of the then-current subscription period. You can cancel your subscription online via the Services. If you need help, contact our customer support team at support@selftold.com for instructions on how to cancel. Upon cancellation, you will have access to the Services through the last day of the current subscription period, after which you will no longer be able to access the components of the Services which were enabled by the subscription. We do not provide any refunds or credits for cancellations.
Privacy
Self Told respects the importance of your privacy. Personal information submitted through the use of the Services is subject to our Privacy Policy.
Content
- Your Content: For any materials you upload or otherwise provide to the Services including written materials, photographs, audio or video recordings or other content (collectively, “Your Content”), you retain all right, title, and interest, including any intellectual property rights, in that content. You grant Self Told a worldwide, non- exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to Your Content as needed to deliver the Services. Self Told will not use Your Content for any other purpose without your prior written permission. You are fully responsible for Your Content. You represent and warrant that you have the right to grant the license above for Your Content to Self Told. If you purchased a subscription, upon cancellation of the subscription, you may download any of Your Content associated with the subscription from the Services before the end of the then-current subscription period. Self Told may permanently delete Your Content associated with the cancelled subscription after the end of the then-current subscription period. The license granted by you to Self Told will terminate upon deletion (by you or by Self Told) of Your Content.
- Self Told Content: Self Told owns all right, title, and interest in all materials which Self Told generates or otherwise provides to or through the Services including written materials, photographs, audio or video recordings or other content (collectively, “Self Told Content”). You may access the Self Told Content solely as part of the Services and in accordance with these Terms, and may not copy or redistribute the Self Told Content. Self Told reserves all rights in the Self Told Content and in the Services. While Self Told aims to ensure that the content it provides is relevant and free from obscene, harassing, inappropriate, defamatory, explicit, or objectionable material, Self Told cannot guarantee that content generated by artificial intelligence meets our acceptable use guidelines. If you find Self Told Content that fails to meet our acceptable use guidelines, please report such material to our customer support team at support@selftold.com.
- Third-Party Content: We may provide information about third-party products, services, activities or events, or we may allow third parties to make their content, services or information available on or through the Services (collectively, “Third-Party Content”). We provide Third-Party Content as a service to those interested in such content. Any dealings or correspondence with third parties and use of or interaction with any Third- Party Content is solely between you and the third party providing it. Self Told does not control or endorse, and makes no representations or warranties regarding any Third- Party Content, and any access to and use of such Third-Party Content is at your own risk.
Copyright and Trademark Issues
If you are a copyright owner, or a designated agent thereof, and if you believe that any content in the Services infringes upon your copyrights, you may submit a notice pursuant to the DMCA with the following information:
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringed;
- The location in the Services where the material can be found by providing the URL to the content you claim is infringing;
- Your contact information including mailing address, telephone number, and email address;
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the copyrighted material is not authorized by the copyright owner, the designated agent, or the law;
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner, or authorized to act on behalf of the owner, of the copyright allegedly being infringed; and
- Your full legal name and signature.

Termination
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Services at any time. If we discontinue the Services, we will credit you a prorated portion of your subscription payment for then current term if applicable. However, if Self Told disables your access to the Services due to your breach of
the Terms, you will not be due any refund or credit for early termination of your subscription. You may terminate at any time by cancelling your subscription and stop accessing the Services. Any terms that by their nature are intended to continue (representations and warranties, your
liability for Your Content, disclaimer of warranties, indemnification, limitation of liability, dispute resolution, arbitration and class action waiver, miscellaneous) shall not be affected by termination.
Indemnification
Self Told makes commercially reasonable efforts to deliver our Services with high quality and high availability but we do not make any guarantees and you acknowledge that you are using the Services at your own risk. Our Services and any content therein are provided “as is”
and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you will indemnify, defend and hold harmless Self Told and our affiliates, officers, directors, agents and employees from and against any claims, allegations or investigations and any associated damages, fines,
costs or expenses arising out of or related to:
(a) your use of the Services;
(b) your violation of these Terms; or
(c) any claim related to your content, including a claim that your content violates the rights of a third party or caused damage to another person.
This indemnification obligation will continue after you stop using the Services.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Self Told will not be liable under any theory of liability – whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, warranty, or otherwise – to you or to any other person for (a) any indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages of any kind, (b) any amount, in aggregate, in excess of $10 or the amount paid by you to Self Told for the use of the Services during the 12 months preceding the claim, or (c) any matter beyond our reasonable control.
Dispute Resolution, Arbitration, and Class Action Waiver
Any dispute arising from these Terms or any use of the Services will be governed by and construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of Washington, without regard to conflict of law rules or principles (whether of Washington or any other jurisdiction) that would cause the
application of the laws of any other jurisdiction. You and Self Told agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts of Washington and the United States, respectively, sitting in Seattle, Washington, to resolve any dispute that is not subject to mandatory arbitration specified below.
Miscellaneous
- Entire Agreement: These Terms represent the entire agreement between you and Self Told and supersede all prior agreements and statements whether written or oral.
- No Waiver: Self Told’s failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of our rights under that provision.
- Severability: If any provision or part of a provision of these Terms is unlawful, void or unenforceable, that provision or part of the provision is deemed severable from these Terms and does not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.
- Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms without Self Told’s consent. Self Told may assign or transfer these Terms without restriction at its sole discretion.
- Feedback: You may from time to time provide suggestions, comments or other feedback to us with respect to the Services or our business (“Feedback”). Feedback, even if designated as confidential, will not create any confidentiality obligation for us. You hereby grant to us a nonexclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free, fully paid up license to use and exploit the Feedback for any purpose.
- Notices: Any notices required to be provided by you under these Terms must be provided electronically to Self Told via legal@rubyslab.com. If Self Told is required to give notice to you, we will do so via email to the address you provide or by posting on the Services.
